My Hobby Paragraph for Class 6 and 7

My hobby is reading storybooks. I developed this habit when I was in Class Three. My uncle gave me a book of folk tales as a birthday gift. I read it in one night and wanted more. Since then, I have visited our school library every week. I enjoy adventure stories, fairy tales and the lives of great people. My favourite writer is Humayun Ahmed, and I also love the tales of Thakurmar Jhuli. Reading takes me to new places without leaving my room. It improves my vocabulary and sharpens my imagination. It helps me write better in my exams. Whenever I feel sad or bored, a good book becomes my best friend. I read for half an hour before going to bed. My friends borrow books from me, and we discuss the stories together. Reading is a cheap, useful and joyful hobby, and I will never give it up.

My Hobby Paragraph for Class 8

My hobby is drawing. Everyone has some activity that gives them joy in their free time, and mine is holding a pencil and filling a blank page with colour. I first became interested in drawing when I was in Class Four. One day, my elder sister drew a picture of our village pond on a sheet of paper. I was amazed and asked her to teach me. She gave me a box of colour pencils and a sketchbook, and I have never stopped since then. Now I draw whenever I get the time, usually in the afternoon after finishing my homework. I like to draw rivers, boats, birds and the faces of people around me. Last year, I won the second prize in a school art competition. My teachers praised my work and hung it on the notice board. Drawing has made me a keen observer of nature. It also helps me stay calm when I feel worried. This hobby has improved my concentration, and it is useful in my studies too. I can draw clear diagrams in science. In future, I hope to hold an exhibition of my own paintings. Drawing is not just a pastime for me. It is a way of telling the world what I feel.

My Hobby Paragraph for Class 9/10

My hobby is playing cricket. In Bangladesh, almost every boy and girl dreams of holding a bat, and I am no different. I first played with a tennis ball and a wooden plank in the narrow lane beside our house. My elder cousin taught me how to hold the bat and how to bowl. Since then, cricket has become a part of my daily routine. Every afternoon, after finishing my homework, I rush to the field near our school.

Cricket has given me much more than fun. It keeps my body fit and my mind fresh. After a long day of study, an hour on the field removes my tiredness. I have also learned teamwork. In a match, no one can win alone, so we must trust and help each other. Losing has taught me to accept defeat without anger. When our team lost the school final last year, I felt very sad. But my coach told me that every defeat is a lesson. That advice still guides me. Cricket has also given me good friends who stand by me in good times and bad.

However, a hobby should never harm our studies. I always plan my time and never skip my lessons for a game. I wear a helmet and play in a safe place. Someday, I hope to play for the national team like my hero, Shakib Al Hasan. Whatever happens, cricket will remain my joy. A good hobby makes life colourful, and cricket does that for me.

Final Thoughts

A hobby is a small window where our own joy lives. It does not need money or a big stage. A seed, a pencil, a book or a bat is enough. When you write about your hobby in the exam, tell the truth about it. Say how you began, what you do, why you love it and what it has taught you. Honest details always sound better than borrowed lines. Remember also that a hobby should help your studies, not hurt them. So, give it a little time every day. Who knows? The thing you enjoy today may become your career tomorrow.
